I'm developing a project for CY8C4A45LQI-483 (PSoC Analog Coprocessor) with PSoC Creator 4.2.

I inserted the components "Switched-Cap. VDAC (13-bit) [v1.40]” and “Scanning SAR ADC [v3.10]” but the notice list shows the following advices:

- Info from component: Scan_ADC. The Scan_ADC_v3_10 component (Scan_ADC) is not compatible with the selected device. Please check the data sheet for details on updating to a compatible component.

- Info from component: VDAC. The UAB_VDAC_v1_40 component (VDAC) is not compatible with the selected device. Please check the data sheet for details on updating to a compatible component.

I also selected the "Update components ..." menu item but the two components appear already updated.

Hi Maurizio Pesce,

Thanks for using PSoC Analog Coprocessor and 4100PS products. The issues you met with Scan_ADC and SC_VDAC components are actually known bugs. These components are in fact compatible with the devices, so the message that you saw is incorrect. We will fix it in next release of components. Before the next release is available, you can just use the components and dismiss the ‘Note’ that indicates the components are not compatible.

Thanks,

Luke Jiao

Hi

From menu Tools > Options ...

Design Entry > Component Catalog

You have choice of "Show Hidden Components",

I think that un-checking this option hides what can not be used with current device.

Hi Moto,

the "Show Hidden Components" is already unchecked.

I also tried with the CY8C4145LQI-PS423 (41xxPS) but it has the same behavior.ScreenShot.png

Dear tecnico-san,

I'm sorry for my short sight.

To check the symptom, I downloaded CY8CKIT147SetupOnlyPackage_RevSS.exe and tried installing it.

But even after installing the package I could not select PSoC 4 41xxPS

and I could not open your project with my PSoC Creator v4.2.

It says "This workspace contains projects with devices that are no longer supported."

I wonder how you could manage to open the project with my PSoC Creator v4.2.

Outdated-device.JPG

And I could not even select 41xxPS nore CY8C4145LQI-PS423 for a new project device selector.

I opened the project with "Yes" selection and at first the project was not shown,

so I reloaded the project. Then finally I could see your project.

Af first I get screen like this

TestADC_Screen.JPG

The bad news is that the components you placed looked unsupported,

but the good news is that in the component catalog unsupported components are not shown.

Then I updated component by the menu Project > Update Components

update_component1.JPG

update_component2.JPG

After this my IDE workbench looked like

After_update_component.JPG

So this seems to be better!

Note, but I found that there still is Analog > Manual Routing > PVref [v1.0] which is not compatible in the catalog.

So I'm afraid that it's not perfect, but I hope at least slightly better than before.

Attached is the project which I updated the components.

Dear Motoo,

about the message you get "This workspace contains projects with devices that are no longer supported." you should select

"Tools > Find new components" and "Tools > Find new devices".

However, I see in your last screenshot that there is still the same note that I have in my project "... component (Scan_ADC) is not compatible ..."

Dear Maurizio-san,

You are right!

At first, I thought that the note was from the project, which I did not updated components.

But I confirmed that the note comes from the updated component,

and until I click the note, there was no way to tell that there is a problem.

Meantime, as I tried to compile the project, it could be compiled,

I wonder if the binary really works for the device or not, though.

I'm afraid that this is beyond the control of "a user" such as I,

so we need to ask the vendor for the description and/or direction to workaround this.

thank you anyway for your interest.

I will wait for the vendor support.

Dear Maurizio-san,

I discussed this issue with my colleagues and they suggested me that

may be folks at PSoC Creator forum have more information about this issue.
