Hello,
Is there a recommended power supply circuit diagram when using fx3S with self power?
Please tell me about the processing of the VBUS and VBATT terminals.
Best Regards,
Naoaki Morimoto

Hi Morimoto-san,
Thank you for sharing detailed information.
Your suggestion seems good except VBATT setting.
In case of the VBATT usage, CYUSB3KIT-001 schematic might be helpful.
On your suggested power supply, FX3 is not supplied any power when USB (VBUS) is not connected to it.
In case of self-powered device, VBATT can use for resolving above issue.
Following graphics are excerpts of CYUSB3KIT-001 schematic.
Best regards,

Hello Morimoto-san,
In terms of basic hardware design, please follow AN70707 - EZ-USBR FX3/FX3S Hardware Design Guidelines and Schematic Checklist.
- CYUSB3KIT-003 is helpful as example circuit design, but as you know, it is not self-powered design, but bus-powered design.
- Although we attached FX3S DVK which supports self-powered on FX3S web page, this board created by Pactron Inc. If they do not offer it, we cannot access to their schematic.
- CYUSB3KIT-001 can work as self-powered device. As you know, however, this product has obsoleted. Cypress does not recommend it officially.

Takayama-san,
Thank you for your answer.
I will suggest to customer the connection of power supply domains for self-powerd application.
Please check below.
VBAT --> Leave open
VBUS --> Connect to VBUS of USB Type-A Plug.
VIO_1 (GPIF) --> connect to system power supply(1.8V to 3.3V)
VIO_2 (S0 port) --> connect to system power supply(1.8V to 3.3V)
VIO_3 (S1 port) --> connect to system power supply(1.8V to 3.3V)
VIO_4 (S1 port and Low Speed Peripherals (UART/SPI/I2S)) --> connect to system power supply(1.8V to 3.3V)
VIO_5 (I2C) --> connect to system power supply(1.8V to 3.3V)
VDD --> connect to system power supply(1.2V)
AVDD --> connect to system power supply(1.2V)
CVDDQ--> connect to system power supply(1.8V or 3.3V which clock required to)
U3RXVDDQ --> connect to system power supply(1.2V)
U3TXVDDQ --> connect to system power supply(1.2V)
OTG_ID --> Leave open if application does not support On-the-Go.
