Hi All,
During the install of PSOC Creator IDE (4.2.0.641), I got this:
Error: fmk.M0027: cyliveupdate.exe: Unable to start executable image: (C:\Program Files (x86)\Cypress\Cypress Update Manager\cyliveupdate.exe) (File=cyliveupdate.exe)
I have tried numerous times to repair the installation and remove it, deleting the install directories, yet after reinstalling, I have the same problem. I at one time had PSOC creator installed and working (including update manager), but had to remove it to resolve other issues (with EZ-USB FX3).
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Ryan,
I read though KBA217546 and followed the instructions to remove the existing install and reinstall as administrator. After that, there is still no update manager and it's directory is missing (e.g. c:\program files (x86)\cypress\update manager" is not present). What do I have to do to completely remove PsoC 4.2 to do a "clean" install?
Thanks,
Scott

I have the same problem after upgrading to the latest PSoC programmer in order to get the Device Update 3.

Which version of PSoC Programmer were you trying downloading and updating?

Hi Ryan,
I am installing the current version of PoSC creator 4.2.
Like I originally posted, this program was at one time on this computer working, but I had to remove it to reinstall some CX3 tools.

Seems this thread discussed same error. Does it make sense to the error you met?
Select debugging target window shows up empty

Hi Ryan,
The thread you referenced is *not* the same issue I am having. I am unable to install the Cypress Update Manager for PoSC creator 4.2.
I still cannot get it to install.

Hi Scott,
The update tool in PSoC Creator can work on my laptop.
Could you double-check configurations of the network, e.g., firewall settings?
Thanks,
Ryan

I had the same problem, simply uninstalling and reinstalling did not work. I uninstalled Creator, then uninstalled Programmer (it was still there), uninstalled all peripheral packages, uninstalled all cypress drivers, deleted all cypress related directories in Program files, user directory and rebooted and reinstalled with "complete" option and it worked.

I can give cleaning the registry a try after removing everything again.
Reinstalling windows isn't an option -- not ready to spend a week or two reinstalling software!
Does not Cypress make a program to clean up it's registry mess?
Thanks,
Scott
