We have made a design interfacing CX3 - 3065 with OV495 ISP . CX3 configuration tool have two pages . One for Image Sensor Configuration and other for CX3 Receiver Configuration . This tool doesn't give me an option for ISP Configuration. Hence could not able to configure CX3 MIPI Receiver .

Any suggestion .

Hello Amar,

Since CX3 has MIPI CSI-2 receiver, it does not need to know whether we connect ISP or image sensor or FPGA with MIPI CSI-2 interface. However, you will be sending the video/image data over the MIPI CSI-2 lines. Hence, it just needs a MIPI CSI-2 TX with known values of CSI clock frequency, THS Prepare, THS Zero, Horizontal active, blanking and vertical blanking, frame rate. Therefore, we can configure the CX3 MIPI CSI-2 RX in tune with the TX.

Here, you have image sensor with MIPI CSI-2 TX interface connected ISP (with MIPI CSI-2 RX). ISP will do processing on the received data and transmit it over the MIPI CSI-2 TX interface to the CX3 (MIPI CSI-2 RX).

Image Sensor -> ISP -> CX3 -> Host (PC).

Please check with ISP provider, what will be CSI clock frequency, THS Prepare, THS Zero, Horizontal active, blanking and vertical blanking, frame rate on the ISP TX side for the smooth data flow to CX3 MIPI RX side.

Note that the values that you enter in Image sesnor configuration of CX3 MIPI tool will be used to calculated the clocks required to receive the specified data rate, FIFO delay of CX3 MIPI block and set the THS Settle of CSI-2 receiver.

Hi Amar,

CX3 should work withe ISP OV495. I have set up two applications based CX3+OV490 and CX3+491.
