Hi,

When plug in USB cable, system can find FX3 device, but shows driver is not installed, several seconds later, device will disappear from Windows Device Manager.

System is Windows 10 Pro with latest update.

SDK 1.3.4.

How to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi Srinath,

Finally found the issue, it's caused by FPGA bit stream.

The bit stream saved in flash will assert FX3 RESET.

There is a switch to control whether K7 auto load bit stream or not.

Turn off the switch or plug-in FPGA program cable will stop FPGA load the bit stream.

After this I can see FX3 in USB Control Center.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello,

- Right click on 'FX3'.

- Choose 'Update Driver'.

- Then, choose 'Browse my computer for driver software'.

- In the next window, choose 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer'.

- Choose 'Have Disk'.

- Browse and point to the CYUSB3.INF file in the 'Drivers' folder of the FX3 SDK.

- Choose any of the instances from the list shown and click OK.

- If the device manager asks for a PC restart, choose 'No'.

- Reset the device or unplug and plug the device again.

Hello,

- When you get the below image,

2018-10-10 15_59_26-Device Manager.png

choose "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer". The "Browse" option from this screen will not work.

- Follow the exact same instructions that I have mentioned.

Hello,

After you get the below screen,

reset the device (or) unplug/re-plug the device.

- The device should appear under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section.

Tried twice, after "Windows has successfully updated your drivers", unplug and re-plug the device, but still can't see FX3.

Hello,

Can you please share the firmware image file for me to test it at my end?

Our customised firmware is not ready yet.

My plan is first try firmware downloaded from Cypress to prove board basic HW is working fine.

My understanding is we need to install driver, plug-in device, open USB Control Center, it will show FX3 device then we can download firmware. Before driver is ready, we don't need firmware. So we still need to solve driver (maybe hardware) issue first?

Thanks!

After power on board, it will show FX3. After few seconds, FX3 will disappear. Do not understand why.
