1: You need to check whether the chip is in mass storage programmer mode.

2: If not, you can give me your PSoC Programmer configure screenshot:

P5(3) is connected to an LED, what do you mean with "Bugger"?

Can it be that your device is in the wrong mode? Try to press the reset button and hold it for > 10s.

Bob,

Sorry, Bugger was a mistype. This is my first attempt at this 046 kit.

I'm trying to follow document AN79953 Getting Started with PSoC4. I'm in

Part 2 Program the Device. The problem is when I select Debug> Select Debug

Target. The Select Debug Target box opens, but it states: "Port Acquire

Failed. No device detected". The "Possible solutions" are 1. Check cable

connections. and 2. Close any application that uses the port such as PSoC

Programmer.

I know the cable is connected ok the lights are on and sounds are played.

But I don't know how to solve #2 close applications that use the port. I

don't think any apps are using the port.

The states:  "Port Acquire Failed. No device detected".   The "Possible solutions" are 1. Check cable connections. and 2. Close any application that uses the port such as PSoC Programmer.

The states only a reminder to let you pay attention to the two points.

If you only open a project in creator, ignore the 2#.

You can attached the programmer screenshot.

I'm not sure how to determine if chip is in mass storage programmer mode.

But I did press the SW1 to reset the mode. I then did a build ok, but the

port acquire fails. Attached is a screenshot of PSoC Programmer.

You can find your PC device, if it is in mass storage, it will display.pastedImage_0.png
