Question about VID

Our company is using fx3 to make a stereo camera system.

   

Now we have almost finished hardware and software design.

   

So when we want to sell the stereo camera, shall we just use the VID?

   

(Some other USB chip company provides this service, I am not sure if Cypress is also like this.)

   

Or we must to apply for a new VID for our own name?

Does the Cypress team have any response to this? Many other USB chip vendors allow the users to use the vendor's VID along with specially assigned PIDs. This saves a lot of cost for small developers.

Is there any update on this decision. I am using an FX3 device in one of my product being designed and now thinking to move to FTDI bridge IC as they provide a custom PID to use for the end customers.
