hello,
Im updating my design and need a replacmend for micron PC28F00AP30TFND (parallel nor).
i was thinking of S29GL01GT however im having truble to find the appropriate CFI compatible with the old micron.
i dont know what to choose from this list:
Model Number (CFI Version, VIO, and VCC Range)
CFI Version 1.3
03 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
04 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
V3 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
V4 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
CFI Version 1.5
01 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
02 = VIO = VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
V1 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, highest address sector protected
V2 = VIO = 1.65 to VCC, VCC = 2.7 to 3.6V, lowest address sector protected
please help.
Thank you.

Hello,
If you do not use the RY/BY#, you can leave the pin open (floating).
Thanks,

Hello,
According to Micron's datasheet I found:
The CFI version is 1.5.
I believe you are aware that the package pin-out and Vcc voltage range are incompatible between Micron PC28Fxxx and Cypress S29GL01GT and that's why you are 'updating' your design, correct?
Best Regards,
Takahiro

Hey,
thank you for your answer.
yes i know about voltage and pinout differences, couldnt find any compatibe part.
regarding the CFI V1.5- I didnt understand the differences between the options: highest /lowest address sector protected,
and the compatible mode in the micron.
in addition, does cypress has an example electrical schematics for the part?
please help.
thank you!

Hello,
If the WP# pin is Low, the highest (sector 1023) or lowest (sector 0) is protected from program/erase. This option select which one is protected. This function is not compatible with the Micron part. In the Micron part, all of sectors are protected if WP# is Low.
We don't have good example of schematics using this part.
Best Regards,
Takahiro

Hey,
in addition,is it possible to leave pin READY/BUSY (RY/BY#) open? (or it must be tied to GND?)
as i see, this pin is not needed during configuration of xilinx 7 series fpga (kintex).
thank you!
