Hello members

When connecting the Digital Output Pin (Pin Name: Pin_2) to cnt [6: 0] of the 7-bit Down Counter, "Terminal" Pin_2.y_ 0 "with width 1 is connected to" Net_ 5 [6: 0] "with eidth 7. "error message was displayed.

What should be connected to cnt [6: 0] of the 7-bit Down Counter?

Best Regards

Hello,

PSoC Creator shows that error because you're trying to connect a 7-bit bus (counter output) to a 1-bit signal (pin input). Instead of connecting them directly, connect separate wires at the counter output and the pin input, double click on these wires, and name them as the following image shows:

bus to signal connection.png

In this case, the PSoC Creator will connect the 6th bit of the counter output to the pin. You can change this bit in the wire settings. Moreover, you can connect additional pins to other bits of the counter output using this technique.

If you want to connect all 7 counter outputs to 7 pins, there's an even easier method. Open the pin settings and select the number of pins as 7, and check "Display as a bus" checkbox. Now you can directly connect the pins to counter output using a wire as the following image shows:

Please let me know if you have more questions.
