Hello,

I am looking to implement PSoC 6's new features into future projects, but I really need to have CAN support.  Right now I am using PSoC 5LP on most of my designs, but would much rather start to make the move to PSoC 6.  Will PSoC 6 support CAN in the near future?

Yes, we are planning to release a new PSoC 6 with CAN support in Q3/2018.

Do you need CAN FD or simply CAN?

I am interested in this as well. I sit next to the OP at work and we would love to move to PSoC 6 when the devices are available but CAN is an absolute requirement.

Yes, CAN FD would be even better!  But CAN classic is an absolute must in order to adopt PSoC 6 into my designs.

Could you point where I can find PSOC5 FD CAN example?

Thank you!

It is now almost Q2 of FY19 ... are there any updates to this?

Yes, CAN-FD will be supported within the PSoC 6 family of devices. We’ll have samples later this Summer and will provide support through ModusToolbox.

Update.

We support CAN in the PSoC 6 CY8C62x5 and CY8C61x5 devices.

The devices are sampling now.
