Is sector erase time of S29JL032J half of 0.5 sec (typ.) In some cases?
If data in the sector are all 1, then skip Erase and speed up Sector Erase time ?

Hello Shimoeda-san,
1.Does NOR perform preprogramming (all '00') and erase (all '1') even if the data in the sector are all 1's ?
-> Yes.
2.If all the data in the sector are 1,will erase processing be executed ?
-> Yes.
If you issue erase command to device, device always executes the pre-program. After then erase is performed.

Hello Yukata san,
We can not generalize and say it will take half of 0.5 s. It might vary.
Q) If data in the sector are all 1, then skip Erase and speed up Sector Erase time ?
A) Yes.
Thanks,
Krishna.

Hello Krishna-san
When a sector erase command is issued, the device will program all sectors' cells to 0 and then erase them.
This operation of setting all cells to 0 is called preprogramming.
Therefore, erasing from blank is the most time-consuming pattern until erasing is completed. (From Command Issue to RB=H or DQ7=H)
However, please note that the guaranteed value of the data sheet does not include the time of preprogramming.
For details, Please refer to Erase and Programming Performance item in the datasheet.

Erase time depends on the sector contents. (all '1')
