Hello!

I am very interested in creating a guitar looper. This machine will get a guitar waveform and record it and then loop the soundwave.

To do that i will have to have a SOC that has not only an ADC, as everyone has, but also a DAC (maybe 12 bit?)

Will these low cost development platforms work for this kind of application?

These two seem the same! What is the difference between them?..

Also, in their characteristics, i couldn't find if they contain DACs.

Not only that, i couldn't understand the SOC that these two had?

Is this the one?

Thanks a lot!

soc_dude, PSoC is underpowered to work with audio, only few projects has been reported so far, mostly toys. Of coarse that can't stop die-hard fanats, but DSP audio starts with M4 processor (PSoC4 has M0, PSoC5 - M3). When selecting processor, look for at least M4 CPU, clock >100 MHz, RAM ~500kb, ADC>12bit, DAC>12 bit. You can find several boards like that for ~$15

Hey,

Check this PSoC 4L : http://www.cypress.com/documentation/development-kitsboards/cy8ckit-046-psoc-4-l-series-pioneer-kit . Audio solutions are available for the kit.

Not a good idea to hijack an answered thread! Better to start a new question.

Have a look into your actual I2C component datasheet. With the latest releases of Creator an additional timeout parameter for all I2C APIs was introduced.
