Hi,
I want to get start with PSOC 5LP.
I have prior experiecne on working with cortex M3 from 4 different comapnies. I prefer to keil as programming tool.
1. Looked at AN77759 & will download the creator & will try some examples.
2. Checked a low cost kit. CY8CKIT-059 PSoC® 5LP Prototyping Kit
There is no official date till now. But anyone has idea by what time it can come?
Or I will order single MCU & try it on custom board.
3. Any other suggestion while getting started with PSOC 5LP.
Regards
VT

This kit covers PSOC 1, 3, 5LP, most expensive
http://www.cypress.com/?rID=37464 CY8CKIT-001C
This kit more capable, more expensive -
http://www.cypress.com/?rID=51577 CY8CKIT-050B
This kit has a 5LP and a PSOC 4 on it. The 5LP has limited pinout as
it was/is used as the programmer/debugger for the PSOC 4. But you
can use it as a general purpose, I/O limited, 5LP, as well as the PSOC
4. Notes it has arduino compatible pinouyt as well.

Schmartboard also has a nice PSoC5LP board: http://www.schmartboard.com/index.asp?page=products_dev&id=652 (and for a review: http://blog.hendriklipka.de/archives/2013/08/psoc_schmartboard_review.html ). It comes with a PSoC5LP with boot loader, so no programmer is needed.

The CY8CKIT-049 comes with a programmer. It is $ 10.
The prototyping kits support PC connectivity through the Cypress USB-Serial controller. The devices can be programmed using the USB-Serial controller and the Bootloader Software Host tool. For more information please see the kit user guide attached for steps and examples.
The CY8CKIT-049 is designed to be programmed using the onboard device bootloader through the Cypress USB-Serial device. For information on how to bootload the device please see the kit user guide.
The schmartboard is available for $ 25.

@danaaknight,
Dana, how did you manage to insert PSoC4200 and Schmartboard images into the post? What browser should I use for that, and where the image should be stored?

I am using Firefox mainly, most of the time it works.
Explorer and Chrome do not seem to work at all.

Get a Miniprog3 and save yourself some grief. Schmartboard is good but be careful of the pins. It is very easy to burn out either the LDO or the processor itself if it is under power and the pins get shorted together. The price is usually $35 but they are on sale all the time at $30. The CY8CKIT-049 is really a good deal. Just solder a 5 pin programming connector on it. But really if you want to learn, get one or 2 CY8CKIT - 050. It has most everything you need for many types of programming and if you have 2 you can do serial communications.
