Hi,
is it possible to use the Tag-Board without a connection to the EEPROM or serial flash?

No, unfortunately, this is not supported. You must use serial flash or EEPROM.

tag3 is wired to the eeprom by default. you can follow the procedure to recover a corrupted tag by pressing sw5 (boot rom) while doing a power reset. this will not boot from eeprom apparently. if you want to have a permanent fix, cut the power supply off to the eeprom by removing a resistor rdx. refer to tag3 user manual on which resistor to de-solder.
any reason why you want to do so?

I have already tried to remove the resistor for powering the eeprom. But then the tag3 could not be programmed. I don't know why the eeprom is exactly needed. Can you explain me?
