Cypress Semiconductor has completed the production programming qualification for Hilo Systems (http://www.hilosystems.com.tw/). The qualification covered all electrical requirements, algorithm support (SWD protocol only), and verification of device sockets. Cypress has qualified all 48-QFN, 48-SSOP, 68-QFN, and 100-TQFP sockets from Hilo Systems for programming PSoC3 devices.

Hi,

Does this including the incircuit programming of PSoC 3? or have to use socket to program?

Would there be PSoC 5 support?

Thanks

As far as PSoC is concerned we do not have any concrete information yet. We will provide updates whenever somthing is available.  However, we would recommend you to go through some of the help materials and App Notes available on Cypress website to understand the programming requirements better.

Some of the third party vendirs for production programming are listed with URLs on this page, http://www.cypress.com/?rID=2543

Refer to the following App Note some information on programming protocols and pin requirements, http://www.cypress.com/?rID=43337

Refer to the following App Note for a comprehensive detailing about the programming Spec of PSoC3, http://www.cypress.com/?rID=44327

The thirdy party vendor Hilo does not support in circuit programming. We will have to use socket to program. However the programmer from RPMsystems uses in-circuit programming. RPM will be qualified in a couple .

As far as PSoC5 is concerned, we are working with vendors and the vendors are developing. By end of november we should be able to provide an update.

Thanks U2.

We are going to have production with system using PSoC5 and PSoC3, so we are think if there are other options to do programming of chips in the production floor,  would like to have alternatives to mass program chips.

Lleung,

Hilo Systems is qualified for PSoC 3 support. I believe they sell an adapter for in system programming. Please contact the local Hilo distributor as they may supply this adapter:

http://www.hilosystems.com.tw/en/contact/hilo_distributor.aspx

RPM is now qualified for PSoC 3 devices and they support in-system programming. We are in the process of generating our announcements for this new qualification support. Please feel free to use this vendor for PSoC 3 programming.

PSoC 5 device support and qualification will be completed by the end of Q4 2011. Hilo Systems and System General are nearing completion of their algorithm support for this device family. We will qualify their support and make public announcements once the qualification is complete.

Thanks,
