Hi,

does anyone know a source for developing "the Android" part for PSoC BLE? I'm totally new to Android application development, so it's hard to find a starting point. Is there any tutorial which describes it from the scratch?

From what I know yet I need at least:

- PSoC BLE hardware -> already have a BLE pioneer kit

- BLE enabled android device -> my smartphone supports the BLE pioneer kit demo application

- Android Studio -> I'll download it

So, the environment is available. I tried to dig deeper into BLE & Android, but it seems that it's necessary to do some Android basics prior to develop an Android bluetooth application...

Regards,

Ralf

There is nothing PSoC specific when developing an Android BLE application (except when using the Cypress-specific services). So you should start with a basic Android application, and read the Android BLE intro: https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/bluetooth-le.html

You can also ask Cypress Support for the source code of the demo application (create a support case for that), it might help you (but the app is quite large and not easy to underatand if you have no prior Android development experience).

Hello hli,

in this case I think I should start with small sample apps before trying to use BLE. I'll install Android Studio and check if there are any examples available.

hello, Do any of your developers have such an app that displays voltage analog on p0.0 or read p00..p08 byte data and so on?

 It should be easy to develop. You need to read the data using ADC and can send the data over BLE using Notofications.

Check https://github.com/googlesamples/android-BluetoothLeGatt

Android developer guide page:

https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/bluetooth-le.html   - Very good starter if you already know Android

These are good starters for developing Apps

@BMAH:

...if you already know Android

That's the problem 🙂 Cypress did a great job with those PRoC / PSoC BLE chips, but if someone doesn't know Android in detail it's a very hard way...

You should read the following guides -

 https://github.com/googlesamples/android-BluetoothLeGatt

https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/bluetooth-le.html

The basic to android app development, once it's completed make sure to list the app on TUTUApp Store. It will get you real exposure of your app.
