From one student to another,Dont buy the first touch kit!
You will soon discover its not worth the money, even at its discounted price.Go for the CY8CKIT-030,or make your own.

Discount is applicable on 030 kit also for student
So 030 is better than first touch starter kit?
Can u tell me how can I make my kit customised.
Provide resources for kit making.
Did cypress give free components to students for their projects?

Though the CY8CKIT-030 is double the price,it is miles better than the FTK.
You can read about it here:http://www.cypress.com/?rID=49524
I am not sure about student discounts, but I would like to warn you about ordering from the Cypress online store. The customs duty that you will have to pay during shipping to India will be a *lot.*

Personally I prefer the Kit-001 whose specs you can see here http://www.cypress.com/?rID=37464 .
Although it will be much more in price, you have the opportunity to develope for PSoC 1, 3 and 5. and you can use the exchangeable processor-modules and plug them into your self-designed (relatively simple) board containing your sensors and outputs and power-supply.
Debugging of PSoC3 and 5 works with the supplied MiniProg3, debugging for PSoC1 will only be possible with an (not cointained) ICE-Cube. The advantage over the -30 kit is (besides more PSoCs) that the debugging-feature is a feature of the processor-module, thus you can debug in the above mentioned hardware configuration.
And IF you get a student's discount, it will be higer than that of a cheaper kit.

Distributors in India here : http://components-asiapac.arrow.com/en/office/

The first thing: There is nothing in the world as free meals.
You will not get your developement board for nothing. There is a forum where somebody has made a custom-board and if you have a look at the thread, you'll see that there (besides a lot of effort) some knowledge of the matter is required and that such a design will take a couple of days and some $$. Probably you may write to the author and ask him to buy one of his PCBs, but you will need some skill and a bit experience to solder smd-parts on it. That can turn out to get an expensive learning if you didn't try it on some cheap electronic parts.
Look here at the forum (you'll have to register first, I presume) http://www.psocdeveloper.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=8096&p=37432&hilit=gerber#p37432

Sachinbvp , as many have suggested I would recommedn you to go with the CY8CKit-030 which is much more versatile.
One of our enthusiastic PSoC user and forum member, Kmmankad has made a custom board of his own as a hobby. You can check it out here, http://kmmankad.blogspot.in . Please go through this and you should be good to get going. If you have any questions, we are always here on the forum.

I also got one of Kmmankad's EzPSoC3 boards from the batch produced at dangerousprototypes.com . It's a nice litle board.
You might want to check their blog because they give away boards every week and you can get one EzPSOC for free.

btw you may also wan't to buy an EZ-USB dev board ($16) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230684823584 and use it as a programmer
or take a look at the FX1 based programmer that I have build with spare parts I had on my parts bin http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=3105
I'm working on a new version that includes some protection and level shifting.

they say it is a random selection, who know you might get lucky 🙂
Another option could be to etch your own board. The design files for EZPSOC3 are open source so you can download them (modify to suit your needs if you want) and manufacture it yourself. There is another single layer design in kmmankad's blog that seems really easy to etch at home. Or you might ask kmmankad to sell you one of his boards.

There are several tutorials on the web about DIY PCB etching. The most popular and easier way is using the toner transfer method.
Some top results from google are

P.S. Please try to reply in a single post, its geting anoying reading your replys on 3-4 posts on a single thread.
