 Hello psocrajendra,

Please go through the       Getting Started with CapSense document to understand the theory behind capacitive touch and how to use PSoC to sense it.

What development kit do you use? If the DVK has a CapSense area onboard, then please refer to the userguide which will provide instructions on how to use the provided CapSense example project.

Also, if you are new to PSoC 1, please do go through AN75320 - Getting Started with PSoC 1 to learn about the device and the software tools involved.

Regards,

Arvind

Hello Psocrajendra,

If you are new to capacitive touch sensing with CapSense devices, Getting Started with CapSense® is a good starting point. Other CapSense Design Guides are available at http://www.cypress.com/?id=1575&rtID=435.

We also have a video, Introducing Cypress Capacitive Touch-Sensing Technology.

Code Examples are available at http://www.cypress.com/?id=1575&rtID=113. The code examples work with Cypress’s development kits, and will help you quickly evaluate a variety of CapSense devices. This page includes the CapSense® Controller Code Examples Design Guide, a consolidated reference guide containing ten code examples that cover the entire CapSense product development life cycle.

Development Kits: You may use CY3280-20x66 UCC kit with CY3280-SLM linear slider module kit. The user guide in the CapSense® Controller Code Examples Design Guide will help the implementation.

CY3210-PSoCEval1 kit do not have the direct provison in it for CapSense sensors. Thank you.

The PSoC1 chip on a 3210-DVK is a CY7C29466-24PXI and has not got any CapSense hardware on it. Of course you might try to implement with the help of some ADCs something alike CapSense, but I think it might be easier though more expensive to use a CapSense DVK like this http://www.cypress.com/?rID=36805 .

The benefit of the above board is the capability of connecting it directly to an ICE-Cube without the need of a POD giving you instantly full debug capabilities for your program.

The FirstTouch starterkits (PSoC1 / 3 / 5) are low priced kits with a CapSense slider. You can use one of these if you want to get started and don't want to spend a lot of money.
