Question: What is the difference between the B9940L and CY29940?
Answer:
The B9940L was placed in a Fab that IBM ran - the IBM Microsystems IIRC. That division was altered in force and most sold off - prior to that time, we were told to move it out with other products. The B9940 design was from a company that was acquired by Cypress. The CY29940 is now a full Cypress part. It is in Cypress production.
