    Question:

Why can’t I use the CTANK Capacitor on CY8CKIT-145-40xx and CY8CKIT-149 PSoC® 4100S Plus Prototyping Kit?

    Answer:

For CY8CKIT-145-40xx and CY8CKIT-149 kits , which has the PSoC® 4 S-Series device, valid pins to have CTANK are P4.1, P4.2, and P4.3. In the kit, these pins are used to place the capacitors CMOD, CINTA, and CINTB respectively. If you are using both CSD and CSX in the  PSoC 4 S-Series, you cannot use the CTANK capacitor because of the dedicated pin limitation for CMOD, CINTA, CINTB, and CTANK.

However, if your design uses only CSD and if shield electrode with Ctank is required, then you can remove the existing capacitors from P4.2 (Cinta) or P4.3 (Cintb) and replace the Ctank capacitor to any one of these pins.

Note: This also applies for CY8CKIT-41-40xx and CY8CKIT-048 PSoC® Analog Coprocessor Pioneer Kit.
