Question: Why has the BQTF (Bluetooth Qualified Testing Facility) requested me to submit additional test evidence when I am listing my product that uses the Cypress CYW2070x chip?

Answer: TCRLs (Test Case Reference List) are updated every half year. Generally, such updates do not require customers to submit additional test evidence when combining component QDID #s 109399 & 104467 & 115853. However, there is a security related erratum (Erratum 10734) released in TCRL-2018-1 which requires that additional test evidence should be provided.

The need for additional test evidence on previously qualified components is mainly caused by a PICS (Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement) change in format/sequence and implementation status for a specific feature (e.g. a significant change to the GATT ICS, such as adding Table 1 from the TCRL-2018-2 release). The security related erratum 10734 is not a typical/regular change.

Question: What additional test evidences is needed?

Answer: All test cases in Table 1 need be tested. These are applicable test cases based on actual ICS of QDID#s 109399 & 104467 & 115853. There is no need to execute the changed Link Layer (LL) test cases in Table 2, as the additional requirement in pass verdict concerning feature which is marked as “Yes” “Masked to Peer” only and according to current core specification only feature LL 9/25 “Remote Public Key Validation” in bit 27 of feature set is marked as “Yes” in the “Masked to Peer”. QDID#109399 does not support feature LL 9/25.

Question: How do I use the test evidence provided in this KBA?
Answer: You should provide Cat A (LL) and Cat B (LMP and SM) test reports to your BQTF. The test evidence for LMP and SM are necessary; the test evidence for LL test cases is listed for reference but is not required to be provided.

Question: What silicon family can use test evidence in this KBA?
Answer: All CYW2070x devices associated with QDID #s 109399 & 104467 & 115853 can use the test evidence provided in this KBA.
