Usage Guidelines for Cypress Developer Community

Version 1

The Cypress Developer Community is a resource for users, customers and partners to help them collaborate, share information and best practices for our products. This community is a global environment for the benefit of all registered members and is provided without charge. Like most online communities we operate more efficiently and provide the most value when everyone understands and follows basic guidelines for online behavior. Please follow these guidelines when participating in the Cypress Developer Community.

    Please remember...

Cypress reserves the right in its sole discretion, to:

    • Edit and/or remove any post, at any time, without notice, including posts containing or linking to material in violation of our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
    • Terminate, at any time, without notice, the membership of any user who violates the Terms of Use or these Usage Guidelines.
    • You may contact our Privacy Team at any time for privacy related questions or concerns.

If you have any doubts about whether your post or link may violate these guidelines, please ask the Cypress Community Manager or a Moderator before posting.

    How to get help

    • If you would like to post a question or information regarding a Cypress product or service, it should be posted to the corresponding forum in the Cypress Developer Community.
    • If you are unsure about a specific Community feature or function, or have feedback regarding the site itself, check the Getting Started discussion forum.
    • Questions or concerns regarding actions taken by the staff should be directed to a Moderator, or Administrator via Private Message (PM) or e-mail.
    • Cypress employee participants are identified in their profile and may use the Cypress logo.

    Keep it relevant

For everyone's benefit please stay on topic. The Cypress Developer Community is specifically provided to allow users and customers of Cypress to help each other in using Cypress products and associated assistance from Cypress. Please refrain from discussing off-topic matters, abusing any company or product, or, in general, from posting material or comments unrelated to the resolution of issues regarding Cypress products and services.

    Keep it courteous

Everyone wants to have a positive experience while interacting with the Cypress Developer Community – your use of this Community should not detract from any other user's experience. In particular, you may not post anything defamatory, obscene, confidential, infringing or other unlawful material or information.

Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks, negative comments or harassment ("flaming") of other members in either the Cypress Developer Community public areas or through Private Messaging (PM) is not acceptable.

    Keep it clear

Please communicate clearly so everyone may understand. Avoid using slang, "net speak", abbreviations or any other wording which might be difficult for all users to understand.  We are a diverse community and seek to provide a comfortable environment where you can easily get help from other users. Please keep in mind that some members use language translation tools and may have grammar variations.

    Keep it spam-free

The Cypress Developer Community is provided as a service to Cypress users and customers and is not intended for the promotion of yours or other third-party services, products, websites, or organizations. Posting content that would constitute advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of solicitation will not be tolerated.

If you do share or promote your materials or products, please be sure any reference is directly relevant to the topic at hand.  Please only share or promote materials which you own or have the rights to distribute, and which you provide free of charge in its entirety on the Cypress Developer Community. Documents, links and downloads referencing content owned by other entities, linking to an external site requiring payment or personal information will be deleted.

    Be careful

You should not post personal information publicly on the Cypress Developer Community including your name and address, age, phone number, social security number or other personal identification information.  Most people in the Cypress Developer Community are happy to help out but remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it.  Cypress is not responsible for advice given in the Cypress Developer Community.

    Community moderators

The Cypress Developer Community is staffed entirely by Cypress employees who have received basic community training and keep confidential member issues and information. Cypress employee contributors, experts and moderators will have company branded imagery and profile information.

Cypress branding, logo and image usage

Cypress’s name, logo and imagery are protected by intellectual property laws and may not be used by non-employees or without express written permission.  Members are not permitted to use Cypress’s intellectual property in profile names, images, descriptions, any postings or otherwise in the Cypress Developer Community.
