Question: When building a PSoC Creator project in Windows 7, I get the "CyKeilSpawner no function" error. I do not get this error in Windows Vista or Win XP. What is the cause of this error and what is the solution?
Answer:
Windows 7 has a strict path length limitation on temporary directories. When PSoC Creator tries to compile a project, it creates a temporary directory to complete the compilation process. If the path length is too long then Windows 7 tries to move the temp directory to C:\windows, which is write protected, thus PSoC Creator cannot finish the build process. This results in the above error.
Reducing the path length of the project will resolve this issue.
