This may be due to the "NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation" registry setting. If that is set to 1, it may cause this problem. Set the value to 0, reboot, and then uninstall and reinstall the software. This should fix the problem.
To go to registry "NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation", click on run command in start menu and then type "regedit" followed by hit on OK button. Now, you can brows to required registry at path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System \CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem.
