How NX2LP/NX2LP-Flex notifies host about ECC error

Question: While reading data from the NAND if there is a ECC error how does NX2LP/NX2LP-Flex inform the host about the error?

Answer:

While reading data from the NAND, if there is a ECC error NX2LP/NX2LP-Flex will correct the error if it is a correctable error, it will correct the data and then send the data to the host. If it is a uncorrectable error it will stall the status phase of the mass storage read request to inform the host that there was a error. In both cases the data will be copied to a new block and the old block will be marked a bad block. While reading data from the NAND, if there is a ECC error NX2LP/NX2lP-Flex will correct the error if it is a correctable error, it will correct the data and then send the data to the host.
