Question: If CY7C68300B is deployed on a board and is connected to a common ATA interface which has multiple boards connected to it, then is it possible to communicate with the other boards by powering down the CY7C68300B? Will the CY7C68300B interfere with communication of the other board with ATA interface?
Answer:
The leakage across un-powered pins of the CY7C68300B is more than what is drawn when the chip is powered and in suspend. Hence, we recommend using the ATAEN feature of the CY7C68300B instead of removing the power from the chip. You will need to tie ATAEN LOW, so that the CY7C68300B will not interfere with the ATA interface.
