What is the difference between Factory Programmable and Field Programmable devices?
Factory Programmed Devices
Factory programmed devices are tested after programming in order to guarantee datasheet parameters. These factory programmed devices have a wider frequency range and are tested for stability at high temperature after they get programmed.
Field Programmed Devices
Field programmed devices cannot be tested after programming so the frequency range is limited in order to guarantee operation across lot-to-lot variation for use. They can be programmed by the user in the field using a qualified programmer such as BP Micro or DataIO.
