Answer:
Sometimes, uninstalling PSoC Programmer - for the purpose of upgrading to a newer version - can result in errors. In such a scenario, you can manually uninstall PSoC Programmer. Here are the steps:
1. Open the registry editor -Type "regedit" (without the quotes) in the run window
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
3. Scroll through the registers (the complexly named ones), looking at the right pane (there should be two panes) for the registry display name to identify the one belonging to PSoC Programmer. As an example, let's call that 123412341234progreg. This is NOT the register label.
4. Run the program "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{123412341234progreg}\setup.exe".
5. Delete the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{123412341234progreg }".
6. Delete the directory you found in step 1, "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{123412341234progreg }".
Note: if you don't see the above folders, you might want to go to Tools\Folder Options\View and change the option to allow viewing of hidden files. PSoC Programmer is used just an example, you can follow the steps for PSoC Creator and Designer also.
