Question: How long does it take to boot the code into RAM out of the EEPROM and start executing?
Answer:
Theoretically, with the 12-MHz crystal used by the EZ-USB AN2131 family, the SCL frequency is 90.9 KHz, giving an I2C transfer rate of 11 us per bit. So to transfer 8K bytes would take: 8192 bytes * 8bits/byte * 11us = 720 ms. Note that the actual size of the internal memory of the EZ-USB is slightly less than 8K.
