Question: How do you create custom user modules (UMs) with PSoC® Designer™ 5.4?
Answer:
You can follow the steps below to create custom UMs with PSoC Designer 5.4:
- Place the UM you want to edit.
- Set the parameters (name, etc.) in the User Module Parameter Window.
- Generate the project by pressing F6.
- After generation is complete without any errors, right-click on your UM in Workspace Explorer and then click LOCK.
- Now you can edit the UM files available under lib > Library Source files in Workspace Explorer. These changes will not be overwritten by Designer when generating the project again.
To create a complete custom UM out of an existing UM, consult the help section of PSoC Designer 5.4. Simply press F1 in PSoC Designer and then search for Custom user module. See Figure 1.
