Question:
On the S70FL01GSx FAB-024 (8mm x 6mm) package, how is the VIO/RFU connected on the PCB?
Answer:
On the S70FL01GSx FAB-024 (8mm x 6mm) package, the Versatile I/O (VIO) power supply, ball E4 on the 5x5 BGA package, is not supported.
Ball E4 is RFU (Reserved for Future Use) in the standard configuration of the S70FL01GS device. For for input signal connections that are labeled as ‘Reserved for Future Use', there is no device internal signal currently connected to the package connector. However, there is potential future use of the connector for a signal.
It is recommended to not use RFU connectors for PCB routing channels so that the PCB may take advantage of future enhanced features in compatible footprint devices.
