The Endurance and Data Retention App Note states that if there are cumulative erase cycles of "1,000 cycles and less," the typical data retention goes from 20 to 10 years. Therefore, applications that would require only a few erase cycles can expect the data retention to be 20 years. In general, just a few erase cycles should make no difference. What is truly more important is the temperature at which the customer expects to store the product. If the temperature rises no higher than 55C, no issues would be expected.
