How to support a 2-cell battery power bank design?
To support 2-cell battery power bank you have to change power architecture of the existing 1-cell. Discharge path will require a Buck-Boost to support a max 8.2-V battery voltage input and source VBUS between 5 V and 12 V on Type-C and Type-A ports.
Charge path will require 2-cell battery charger Buck-Boost to support VBUS in range of 5 V to 12 V.

Existing 1-cell design supports 5 V@3 A on the Type-C port to charge the battery for achieving higher efficiency and better thermals.
CCG3 firmware can be modified to support complete VBUS range (5 V– 20V) for charge and discharge path.
