Question: Can you explain how the data pointer operates?
Answer:
DPTR related instructions will access the currently selected data pointer determined by the SEL bit in the DPTR select register. If this bit is 1, DPTR will refer to DPTR1 and if it is 0 it will refer to DPTR0. This includes instructions like MOVC and JMP.
